Saumur
Anjou is justifiably proud of its balance between urban and rural life. More than anywhere else in France "l'art de vivre" (how to live well) is uppermost in Anjou. Here it is easy to escape to the countryside but equally easy to enjoy the hustle and bustle of urban life. Pretty villages abound and even the cities - Angers, Cholet and Saumur - have a charm of their own.
